Snider Butt Markings
I have here a 1872 BSAco mkIII two band snider on the but,asides from the normal WD cartouche it has the following DC 24 B.B. Could anyone tell me the battalion/regiment it belonged to. Regards, Mike.

24 Kent Battalion was headquartered in Chatham ,ON in 1885, Authorised strength of 296 in 6 Compaies. Disbanded 25 Nov 1892, raised 14 Sept 1866.

No it is just a plain D.C. and the B.B. underneath it are definately Bs the fittings are all iron the but plate only has inspection marks and no rack numbers. Regards, Mike.
